Career and Technical Education
Career and Technical Education (CTE) prepares youth and adults for a wide range of careers and further educational opportunities. These careers may require varying levels of education - including industry-recognized credentials, postsecondary certificates, and two and four year degrees.
Today's CTE provides students:
- academic subject matter taught with relevance to the real world
- employability skills, from job-related skills to workpla ethics
- career pathways that link secondary and postsecondary education
- second-chance education and training
- education for additional training and degrees, especially related to workplace
- training, skills upgrades and career advancement
