Research, Planning & Institutional Effectiveness

The Research, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness (RPIE) department at Palo Verde College provides comprehensive data and analysis that guides informed decision-making for the administration, faculty, and staff. By fostering a commitment to continuous improvement, we strive to cultivate a culture of excellence within our college community. The RPIE department also:

  • Coordinates the development and implementation of strategic plans by providing data-driven insights and recommendations to guide decision-making processes.
  • Assists faculty and staff in evaluating the effectiveness of programs, initiatives, policies and grants by developing and monitoring performance indicators to track progress towards institutional goals/objectives, outcomes and impacts.
  • Encourages continuous improvement of academic programs, academic and student support services, and administrative services.
  • Supports the College's accreditation processes and ensures compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Gathers relevant data from internal and external sources, and analyzes it to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Generates educational and organizational studies and reports to facilitate planning and decision-making processes.
  • Presents data and analysis in clear and accessible formats, such as reports, visual dashboards, and presentations, to facilitate understanding and decision-making.
  • Provides training and support to faculty and staff on data analysis techniques, research methods, and best practices in institutional effectiveness.
  • Coordinates and/or completes state and federal reporting.
  • Responds to internal and external requests for data and information.
  • Serves as a primary source for information on research and institutional effectiveness.
