Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Financial Management from CSU, Long Beach and an Associate of Science in accounting from El Camino College. He owned his own hardwood and plywood wholesale lumber for twenty-five years. He worked closely with building contractors for many years, even partnering with some on building and remodeling projects. After retiring from his lumber business, Mike relocated to Blythe and his home on the river. When Mike found out that Palo Verde College had a cabinet shop that needed to be set up, he volunteered for the job. After setting up the shop, Mike was asked to apply for the teaching position. After a competitive interviewing process, Mike was selected for the Building Construction Technology Instructor position. Mike enjoys teaching all the building skills to his students especially the cabinet class because he lets the students minds go wild to create the most innovative projects the mind can imagine. Students that perform well in Mike's class are very hands on, creative, and enjoy working with woods.
