Student Success Completion Grant
What is the Student Success Completion Grant (SSCG)?
The SSCG is a grant offered by the California Community College Chancellor’s Office

Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I apply?
Just complete your FAFSA or California Dream Act Application by the CSAC deadlines
(March 2 for all students, September 2 for community college students). No separate
application is needed.
When will I know if I got it?
You will receive modified award letter by email if awarded SSCG, followed by another
email when your check is sent to you.
View your financial aid by logging into the PVC Student Planning and Registration Portal and selecting “Financial Aid Information” from the “Financial” menu tab.
I was awarded a full time Cal Grant, so why am I not awarded the SSCG?
Funding for the SSCG is limited, so not all eligible students will receive it. Awards
depend on available funds, with priority given to students who receive Cal Grants
from CSAC early in the award year and who have the highest number of Title IV eligible
units.
What courses count?
Only Title IV eligible courses count toward unit requirements, same as Pell Grant
and Cal Grant requirements.
Can I lose my award?
Yes, if you:
- Drop below required units.
- Lose Cal Grant eligibility.
How do I get my grant funds?
Funds are generally available within two to three weeks following initial award email
notification; however, these dates may vary without prior notice.
SSCG funds are issued exclusively as paper checks made payable to the student. Please be aware that these checks may not be compatible with mobile banking applications, including mobile deposit. Students are advised to consult their banking institution regarding deposit options.
All grant checks are mailed via USPS to the student’s address on record with the Admissions Office. Notification is provided by email when checks have been mailed.
Students should anticipate a minimum of five business days for receipt of their grant
check. It is the student's responsibility to ensure their mailing address is current
with the Admissions Office. Checks lost in the mail or otherwise not received within
a reasonable timeframe are to contact the college’s business office.
Students may be subject to a stop payment fee if a check reissue is requested.
