After receiving a complaint during the open session of our regular meeting on December 12, 2025, our Board consulted with legal counsel and held two Board meeting in closed session to review the complaint, discuss the District's processing options, and take steps to begin an independent investigation of the matters included in the complaint. As the complaint referred to the District’s use of and documentation related to grant funding, we will also be conducting a forensic audit of the identified funds.
As fiduciaries of the Palo Verde Community College District, the Board of Trustees is committed to ensuring the integrity of District administration and transparency in verifying District operations are conducted in accordance with applicable law. We take all reports and complaints seriously and will implement the investigation process as set forth in the District’s Board Policies and Administrative Procedures.
The Board understands the importance of an independent review of the operational matters involved in the complaint. We encourage the full participation of District personnel in the investigation process. Any retaliation against District personnel for participation in the complaint investigation process is strictly prohibited and will be addressed in accordance with District policy. In the event any misconduct is uncovered during the investigation process, the Board will take prompt and appropriate remedial action.
