Waitlist
Students may add their name to a waitlist when a class is full. If a seat becomes available, the next student on the waitlist will receive an email notification and will have 24 hours to enroll. If the student does not enroll within the 24-hour deadline, the opportunity expires and the seat is offered to the next person on the waitlist. Students are strongly encouraged to monitor their email.
Important Reminders
- Students on a waitlist are not officially enrolled and must not attend class.
- Students will not be charged for waitlisted units.
- Waitlisted units do not count toward Financial Aid eligibility.
Communication With Faculty
- Students should first add themselves to the waitlist during the registration process.
- After joining the waitlist, students may contact the instructor only to inquire whether additional seats may be opened, since some faculty may not be aware that a waitlist exists.
- Students must not request unofficial enrollment, instructor “permission,” or attend class unless officially enrolled.
- Only the Admissions & Records Office and the waitlist system can officially enroll as a student. Instructors cannot guarantee enrollment or allow participation unless the student appears on the official roster.
Enrollment Restrictions
Students cannot be enrolled (and will be dropped) if:
- They have not met the prerequisite at Palo Verde College.
- They are enrolled in a course with a time conflict.
- They are enrolled in the same course in a different section.
- They are already enrolled in 19 units for spring or fall, or 7 units for summer; students exceeding unit limits must meet with a counselor to obtain an Overload Approval and submit it to the Admissions & Records Office.
Waitlist Deadline
- The final day to add yourself to a waitlist is the day before the last day to register,
by 3:00 p.m.
Example: The last day to register for Spring 2026 is January 30, 2026. Students must join the waitlist by 3:00 p.m. on January 29, 2026, to be included.
This deadline ensures back-end processes run properly, and staff are available to assist with any registration issues.
Students should review the Academic Calendar for all important dates and deadlines.
